Long Week Wrap-up

This past week was a long one and I apologize for not posting sooner!  After Brad's race last Saturday we headed home for a busy day trying to get everything ready for his big trip to Korea and Japan.  He was gone for the whole week and I was holding down the fort on my own.  Needless to say by the time I got home from work, Noah to bed, and everything ready for the next day I was too exhausted to write.  So I will fill you in on the events of the week.

On Tuesday Noah had a follow-up with one of the many specialists he sees at Children's.  She is a physiatrist and helps us with Noah's braces and coordinating his therapies.  Everything went really well and she was really happy with how the new AFO is working out.  She was impressed with the improvements in his gait and Noah loved getting to show off as he ran up and down the hallway.  After the doctor we headed out to his Gymboree class.  I usually don't have Noah wear his braces to class but because we were coming from the doctor I just left everything on (he actually wouldn't let me take the hand brace off!).  Of course I didn't think anything of it but wasn't really prepared for the questions and looks.  Whenever someone who doesn't know Noah sees his braces they automatically think he had some type of injury and ask me "what happened."  I usually don't go into much detail-just tell hem it is to help strengthen his arm.  Everyone was really accepting and I was amazed how much more confident he was doing certain activities while wearing it.  I have never seen him crawl so well!  Just gave him a little extra support to keep his wrist in a good alignment.  Was also climbing all over the place and having a great time.  Tuesday we also went out to lunch and had a fun time at the park.

The rest of the week was kind of a crazy blur but I did get confirmation that we are all set for our apartment in New Jersey for Noah's camp in July and also got a call from one of the therapists there.  We will be doing a phone interview this week to review his goals for camp and confirm everything.  I can't believe that will be here in just a few short weeks!  Will be quite an adventure!  Brad made it home safely on Friday night and Noah was very excited to see him.  Have had a nice relaxing weekend and am not looking forward to going back to work tomorrow!  Noah has his first eye appointment on Tuesday (should be interesting) and we also got his class picture!  I think it is absolutely hilarious!
